Born in Aberdeen in 1958, Susan Norrie studied Illustration and Printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art graduating with a BA 1st Class Honours. The following year, she completed a post-graduate year specialising in coloured etching. In the early 1980s, she won travelling scholarships to Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. In 1987 and 1988, she travelled and worked in U.S.A and Lofotens, Norway and in 1991, she was invited to work in Belgium. She has exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions throughout Europe and U.S.A. and her work is housed in collections in Britain, Germany, Portugal, Japan, Norway, Belium, Netherlands, Switzerland and U.S.A.
