Miranda Macrae lives near Ancrum in Roxburghshire, Scotland, where she has her studio. She studied Life and Portrait drawing at Studio Simi in Florence between 1973 and 1975 under the direction of Seniorina Norena Simi. During this period she also studied History of Art and learned to speak Italian. After starting a family in 1989, Macrae became a pupil of the well-known Scottish painter, James Cumming, from whom she learned to paint in oil. She has since exhibited locally at the Main Gallery, Ancrum and in private exhibitions. Outside of her art, her other interests include gardening, fishing and embroidery.

NHS Fife recognises the importance that art plays in creating an environment conducive to good health and well being. Our collection of artwork is intended to be enjoyed by patients, their visitors and staff alike.
