George Cochran Lambdin (1830-1896) was born in Pittsburgh and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. While supporting troops in the American Civil War, distributing medicine and bandages to them, he painted scenes of the soldiers’ lives in their camps. Subsequently Lambdin painted floral works, from which many colour reproductions were made, achieving great popularity.
NHS Fife recognises the importance that art plays in creating an environment conducive to good health and well being. Our collection of artwork is intended to be enjoyed by patients, their visitors and staff alike.
