Richard Akerman (1942-2005) studied Fine Art at the Hornsey College of Arts and Crafts. After travelling widely throughout Europe and Asia, he achieved great popularity for his paintings depicting floral and architectural subjects, prints of which became among the best-selling art prints of all time. This depiction of vases of flowers is a good representative of Akerman’s sensitive use of watercolour to describe delicate floral forms.
