With this painting the artist attempts to create an abstract optical illusion through the repetition of vertical stripes in contrasting colours. The brightest red stripe in the centre really stands out and almost cuts the painting vertically in two. The brighter blue and red stripes are grounded by the darker green, blue and black stripes creating a harmonious, yet visually exciting, composition.
