Des Brophy began painting while in an RAF hospital when he was a serviceman. His skills were subsequently developed by Artist John Greensmith RSW, leading him to create landscapes depicting the Derbyshire moors. Brophy later moved to more humorous themes while working with the police in Sheffield. His work has been collected internationally and has been regularly exhibited on international cruise ships run by P&O and Princess Cruise Liners.

NHS Fife recognises the importance that art plays in creating an environment conducive to good health and well being. Our collection of artwork is intended to be enjoyed by patients, their visitors and staff alike.
