The night sky here is bright, illuminated by the moonlight hanging low to the horizon. The brushstrokes across the sky capture a hazy, transparent cloud cover diffusing the moonlight over the inky black ocean water. As the title suggests, there is a peaceful solitude to this painting, evoking the power of the sea to calm and bring about a reflective state of mind. Graham Wallace is a member of Glenrothes Art Club.
