Born in Falkirk in 1931, Elizabeth Blackadder is one of Britain's most renowned artists and was the first woman to be elected as a member of the Royal Scottish Academy as well as the Royal Academy. She paints in oil and watercolours and has worked with printmakers on a variety of printing techniques. She is known for her paintings of many subjects but is particularly well known for her depiction of flowers. 'Tulips' combines an artistic and a scientific talent to create a graceful and intriguing work of art.

NHS Fife recognises the importance that art plays in creating an environment conducive to good health and well being. Our collection of artwork is intended to be enjoyed by patients, their visitors and staff alike.
