Malcolm Cheape (b.1964) completed a BA Honours and Postgraduate in Painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee in 1987. His subject matter is the contemporary and historical world of commercial, industrial and naval shipping. This includes decommissioned fishing boats, private yachts, modern day trawlers, tall ships and battle ships. Malcolm Cheape works primarily in ink and acrylic. Through researching the archives of Britain’s maritime museums, and investigating the history and design of boats gone by, his work attempts to mirror both past and present. Malcolm Cheape lives and works in Glenfarg in Perthshire.
