Anne Russell is a Scottish printmaker, born in 1961 in Kirkwall, Orkney Islands. Her first degree was a BA (Hons) Fine Art from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen in 1986, which was followed by a postgraduate Diploma in Printmaking from Glasgow School of Art in 1987. Anne worked as printmaking technician at the former Dundee Printmakers Workshop and the Dundee Contemporary Arts Print Studio, editioning co-publications, delivering etching, lithography, and relief painting courses to adults, special needs students, school pupils and teachers. Anne also worked for NHS Tayside in mental health support for six years before returning to printmaking. She now creates her own prints at DCA Print Studio.

"The sky, the light, the constant change of weather all influence my work and mood. While out walking I am habitually searching my surroundings for patterns and colours with a view to translating it into one of my prints."

NHS Fife recognises the importance that art plays in creating an environment conducive to good health and well being. Our collection of artwork is intended to be enjoyed by patients, their visitors and staff alike.
